Rare Fruit Orchard February 3rd, 2024

Sunshine graced us today, but the soft ground hampered club car movement. Nonetheless, with impending storm looming, we have to seize the opportunity.

Jay, Hampton and Daisy (recently returned from Taiwan), Joseph and Julia, Yvonne and Zoie, Alex Batista and Noah Tracy pruned sapotes and loquats for the late winter. Loquat and olive seedings, and pruning debris filled the green bin to capacity. We repurposed three live oak limbs felled by Salinas’ crew three weeks ago as trail boarder. More importantly, we had a chance to walk around the place and figure out what we can do for the rest of the year.

A major storm is anticipated to arrive within 24 hours, persisting for 3 days. We are going to have quite a job when we come back next week.
