Salvia Garden

Salvia greggii

There are over 750 types of salvia growing throughout the world. Many are exhibited in the Garden collection. At least 10 are California native species.

Salvias come in a variety of shapes and colors, have an appealing fragrance and low water requirements . The native species can cover dry slopes, filling in rapidly once established. Many hybrids combine well in home landscapes. The Salvia Garden is currently being expanded to accomodate a broader collection of this important plant.
